Description

Kaiserstuhl Cycling Tour

The Kaiserstuhl Circular Bike Tour is 64 km long and follows one of the most beautiful bike paths in the Upper Rhine Valley. You’ll ride through the wine-growing communities of the Kaiserstuhl, of course, but also through fruit-growing communities and riparian forests. This is a loop cycling route; we recommend starting in Riegel. Ninety percent of the route is paved. You’ll ride through numerous wine-growing villages whose names will ring a bell with wine connoisseurs.

The tour also includes a section of the nearby Tuniberg, which offers a magnificent view of the Black Forest and the Vosges Mountains. The varied route winds along bike paths and farm roads, through the Rhine’s riparian forests, picturesque wine villages and small towns, and fertile orchards and vineyards. Your tour guide not only knows the route of this tour but is also familiar with the villages and their history and stories. Enjoy not only the exercise in nature but also learn more about viticulture in the Kaiserstuhl wine region and fruit growing here in the “Tuscany of Germany.”

The Kaiserstuhl Cycling Tour Means Pure Nature

The Kaiserstuhl is home to several rare animal species, such as the hoopoe, the bee-eater, and the gray heron. But the highlight would certainly be spotting a green lizard or a praying mantis.

This paradise is home to picturesque villages such as Vogtsburg, Bahlingen am Kaiserstuhl, Riegel, Bötzingen, and the small town of Breisach am Rhein. Expect half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, and a slower pace of life.

The price includes a tour guide who will accompany your group throughout the day. If we arrange additional services for you, such as coffee breaks, restaurants, or bicycles, we charge a processing fee of €25 per additional service booked.

What to Expect

A bike tour of the Kaiserstuhl promises pure nature. The mild climate of “Germany’s Tuscany” supports a wide variety of flora and fauna that you’ll find nowhere else.

  • Rare animal and plant species such as the hoopoe, the bee-eater, and the gray heron. But also rare lizards such as the wall lizard and the sand lizard. The highlight, however, would be to see a green lizard or a praying mantis.
  • Wine-growing communities such as Oberbergen, Achkarren, or Breisach, home to the Geldermann sparkling wine cellar. A wine connoisseur’s heart will leap with joy.
  • The fruit-growing regions of the Kaiserstuhl, with their asparagus and strawberry fields and farms with apple, pear, and cherry orchards
  • The volcanic rock of the Kaiserstuhl and the loess. Together, they create the paradise known as the Kaiserstuhl.
